THE THIRD VISIT TO PAI

In October 2012, Pai was not the main destination for our yearly family vacation trip during the children’s school break. We planned a road trip from Chiangmai to Chiangrai and we decided to have a stop at Pai in between. Unbelievable, this small and quiet town called us for the second visit in 2013 and the third visit in 2015. The prime objectives were to ride an ATV in the forest professionally arranged by “Romance another story in Pai” and to taste Khao Puk Nga Dum (Black Sticky Rice with Black sesame) at Pai walking street.

TRY A NEW RESORT

During searching for a specifically safari theme resort, we came across this absolutely charming “Reverie Siam Resort” with a more relaxed atmosphere. It is located by the Pai River not far from the Pai walking street. The resort also provides a complimentary shuttle service (Tuk Tuk) to the town upon request. Despite the fact that this place was just newly opened in December 2013, we did not hesitate to try it due to top-rated reviews from its guests.

BEAUTIFULLY RELAXED VILLA

We stayed in a uniquely designed villa (with a mountain view) that can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children under 13 years old. The villa is set in an own private garden and an outdoor pavilion where Mum could lay down and see Dad and the children throwing a Frisbee bought from Pai walking street. The bathroom is spacious, equipped with a very big bathtub opening to an outdoor garden view through a wide and high glass window, and a separate shower area. This is the best place for relaxation and we just spoiled ourselves here in the villa instead of going out for an ATV ride.

LOVELY “SILHOUETTE BAR & RESTAURANT”

The restaurant possesses a great ambiance offering Contemporary Mediterranean Cuisine with a wide variety of Tapas selection. We had one complimentary dinner as an apology for the resort’s pest control without prior notice while we were in the main swimming pool. The General Manager sent us a letter of apology and offered either a complimentary one-night stay or a complimentary dinner, and we chose the latter despite the fact that the one-night accommodation rate was higher than a set of dinner. We appreciated the GM’s swift action on our complaint and an explanation of the Front Manager in person once we came back from Pai walking street.

FANTASTIC ESCAPE IN PAI

If it happens that we have a trip to Pai for the fourth time, we will definitely revisit “Reverie Siam Resort”. The resort also has interesting activities available such as cycling, trekking and photography tour with additional costs. However, we think it is also a perfect place to just unwind and enjoy privacy and tranquility.
